...what am I doing in the pits? ~ the title of a book by Erma Bombeck.
It certainly applies to this month, and it's only January.

I hope it's not a portent of things to come.
General malaise is the best way I can describe what I've been fighting the past couple of weeks or so. I think I may have also had a touch of food poisoning at one point...no pain, thank goodness, but I think the best color my complexion could have been best described as would be grey with a tinge of green.

Fortunately, it didn't last long.
My first attempt at color and dramatic lighting (beyond the horses) is Vincent. It didn't turn out as well as I'd hoped, but it turned out better than I thought it might at the first.
It is inspired, in part, by the horses, I will say, though. I've decided if I keep at the variations of colors, horses will likely make more of an appearance in the gallery, as they're so much fun to paint that way! In short, my sister won't have to wait for her birthday and Christmas, anymore, if I really decide to get busy! I've got several other pictures waiting in the wings...(no, they're not horses.)
But life goes on...right?
