moonlight ruminations by Hagge moonlight ruminations by Hagge
For Sue.

One of several pictures I'm currently working on.

I dreamed of this picture, to a degree, and it of course, it didn't turn out the way I originally saw it, but it turned out. :)

Thanks you. :) Later down the line I want to try a similar theme with a more decorative border. :D

Lovely! Not sure I care for the border, but the picture itself is outstanding. I love how the cat is staring straight out at us, as if we've just caught his attention. :)

Thanks. :) I think, in this case I may have made the border too thick. It's not quite what I originally saw...but there's always next time. ;)

That's gorgeous! I love the border. And how you give expression to animals, of course. :) You can see the kinship to a housecat, somehow.

It's close to what I had in mind. I think the next one though will have a more decorated border. And thanks. :)

No worries. :) How much do you usually have in mind before you start?

It varies. Everything from a basic color scheme to almost full work, minus detail, unless it's the subject of interest.

That's so cool. Colour scheme in particular. I have to have something in mind or I just draw squiggly lines or faces...

One of the things I'm endeavoring to accomplish is the way light affects the subject. Landscapes open themselves more to that, for me, and people and animals are the real challenge. ^^;

I can understand that. A landscape has more, but that also means the effect of light is wider. People and animals are a lot of far more compact and complex shapes and angles.
