In praise of clouds by Hagge In praise of clouds by Hagge
...without them, it'd be a pretty dull world. :)

This is more of a study, than anything else, and begs a redo down the line...but it gave me more of an idea of where I want to go next time. :)

That is gorgeous... I love your paintings like this, they're like photographs that have come to life and exploded into further colour.

I seriously want this as a mural on my bedroom wall.

Well, thank you...but I seriously want my paintings to turn out more often! :O :lol:
And I did discover that clouds actually come in every color of the rainbow, even in their grey 'clothes'. :D

If they turn out too often, we'll have the galaxy's first rainbow cousin of a black hole. :O Which would be awesome.

That makes me want to go out and cloud watch...

Uhm...alright. :) Thank you...
actually take a photo of them, and use your color dropper in photoshop...I did, and found literally every color of the rainbow...in subdued tones, of course. :)

Sorry, I am a silly person. ^^;

Wow. That's seriously amazing. Would make quite a palette for a painting.

I discovered an event in clouds called "irisation"! (I hope I spelled that correctly) It's actually quite common, but a lot of people seldom notice...the colors are veritably irridescent, sometimes. I want to learn how to capture that!

I like it.:) I do have to say that clouds in any painting or picture really can add some needed character to it. Also, from a photographers prospective, they can help a lot with keeping glare down and making shots turn out a lot nicer.:)

I must say, I was astounded at the number of actual colors in even what appears to be a simple grey cloud! In subtle spectrum, of course, but it's every color of the rainbow! Truly! :O
And thank you, by the way. :)

Yeah they aren't just gray..I think that is why they can be hard to paint. Until you try it you don't realize how complex some of this can be. It's like taking the herptile shots. I only get the shots I do b/c the herptiles are comfortable around me. If they didn't want to do something then I am just not going to get that shot.
