Wow! Love it. That bear looks so relaxed. . .and pettable. Actually, the way he laying vaguely reminds me of the "Polar Bear King" from the fairy tale 'East o' the Sun, West o' the Moon'. I have no idea why. But anyway. . . .
My only 'quibble' would be that that ice looks SERIOUSLY slippery and makes me wonder how he stays on. But that could just be me.
No, I didn't know. Sounds like you've been doing some research! It does make sense, though. The hollow hair would actually probably provide better insulation against the cold. I find it amazing how creative God is/was in the variety of ways he made animals for the various climates. From the extreme cold of the north to the hot, dry deserts. Its just astounding. But oh-so-fun to discover.
Yeah, we don't have a shortage of bears here either, really. My parents actually saw quite a few grizzlies with cubs this summer when they were taking our company from the UK around. Got some good pictures too. I wasn't with them most of the time, so I didn't get to see, unfortunately, but I HAVE seen them. But yeah, having an interest definitely makes you learn strange and interesting details about them. I know I've done a fair bit of learning on wolves for the same reason. And horses - but horses are not unusual. lol Then again, neither are wolves, when it comes down to it.
