Wow! Love it. That bear looks so relaxed. . .and pettable. :D Actually, the way he laying vaguely reminds me of the "Polar Bear King" from the fairy tale 'East o' the Sun, West o' the Moon'. I have no idea why. But anyway. . . .

My only 'quibble' would be that that ice looks SERIOUSLY slippery and makes me wonder how he stays on. :) But that could just be me.

Lovely job. :D

:) Thanks. They're an amazing animal, truly.

Well, they do have little dermal bumps on the soles of their feet...it helps give them traction on ice. (did you know they don't have white hair? It looks like that 'cause it's hollow.)

No, I didn't know. :) Sounds like you've been doing some research! It does make sense, though. The hollow hair would actually probably provide better insulation against the cold. I find it amazing how creative God is/was in the variety of ways he made animals for the various climates. From the extreme cold of the north to the hot, dry deserts. Its just astounding. But oh-so-fun to discover. :D

Well, I do have a keen interest in bears. And living where I do helps. :)

Yes, I agree wholeheartedly. :D

Yeah, we don't have a shortage of bears here either, really. My parents actually saw quite a few grizzlies with cubs this summer when they were taking our company from the UK around. Got some good pictures too. I wasn't with them most of the time, so I didn't get to see, unfortunately, but I HAVE seen them. But yeah, having an interest definitely makes you learn strange and interesting details about them. :) I know I've done a fair bit of learning on wolves for the same reason. And horses - but horses are not unusual. lol Then again, neither are wolves, when it comes down to it.

This turned out sooo nice! I really like how you made the ice--it looks solid, wet, shiny, etc. The bear, of course, is just as lovely.

Thank you. :) Like I said...two of my favourite subjects: bears and ice/water.
I still hope to master water to my satisfaction, some day.
