...I haven't drawn one of these since my early teens...

This is my entry for the Seventh Sanctum [link] contest.

I used the vampire generator and got:
"This personable female vampire has narrow brown eyes. Her luxurious, straight charcoal-colored hair is medium length and is worn in a business-like, simple style. She is tall and has a graceful build. Her skins in china white. She can turn into a flock of bats. She has the standard vampiric disabilities. She subsists on human flesh and blood."
mixed with the fantasy Name Generator Extreme.
Her name is Belladonna Rouge.

She's not the only entry I've drawn, but she was the easiest to do. :)

Interesting piece. I'm not really one for vampires, but you did a great job, especially on her hands. They're so textural and savage looking, while at the same time looking strangely feminine - very vampiric.

If you expect the unexpected, and the unexpected becomes the expected, then you can no longer expect the unexpected because there is no more unexpected to expect, and then you are not expecting the unexpected, so the whole thing is pointless.

Well, I'm not really one for them, either, but as it's a contest...:)
Thank you. :) I tried to base the lighting on the old photo shots of the early Hollywood stars.

I love the blending on the bats' wings--it looks kind of like a chalk-drawing of leather in places, a nice effect. (even if you didn't intend it ;) ) And I like the way the focus is immediately drawn to her face, the detail there is the most finely developed, and the lighting is more dramatic. :clap:

I have seen the writing on the wall, and it is misspelled graffiti.

The bats were almost a pain to do...there's not a lot of detail to 'em, if you din't notice.
I really did try the lighting effect used in some of the earlier celebrity photos! Y'know they just don't shoot 'em like they used to. Thenk ye...thenk ye...:bow: :D

Ah, yeah. Sorry. My brain was sleepy at the time ^^;

Things have been pretty hectic lately, to say the least.
